For one night only (21st March 2013), the world’s first hotel made from cake will open in London! A team of 14 cake makers from Britain’s largest cane sugar brand Tate & Lyle Sugars spent more than 2000 hours to bake and 900 hours to decorate the unique hotel, using 600 kilos of the brand’s new Taste Experience sugar.
Overnight guests will be able to eat their way through vanilla sponge cushions, windows and walls clad with 2000 macaroons, a rug made from 1081 meringues hand-stitched together, 20 kilos of marshmallow garlands, windowsills built entirely from fudge and a bath filled with caramel-coated popcorn. There are even edible books on the bedside table.
