Foster and Gehry win Battersea phase 3 design

Gehry Partners and Foster + Partners have won the job to design phase 3 of the Battersea Power Station redevelopment.

Phase 3, which is otherwise known as the High Street, will comprise two major residential development zones along a retail pedestrian street from the northern line extension station.

It will consist of 1,200 flats, a 200-room hotel overlooking both the town square and the Power Station, 350,000 sq ft of retail and restaurant space, and a library.

Gehry Partners, is designing the apartments to the east of the High Street – its first buildings in the UK – with Foster + Partners designing the residential buildings to the west.
