London’s 5 best design and interiors shops

Winter is nearly over and it is time to look for some home decorating inspiration.  New interior design ideas can be always found in IKEA,  but if you are looking for  something unique, then you have several options.

London is full of independent “design shops” that can offer interesting furniture, both vintage or modern. Many items can be found there which would help in decorating one’s house.

A cooperation of an artist and architect

When two such friends meet and open a small shop, it might result in becoming a unique place where beautiful things can be purchased.  Pentreath & Hall was founded by Ben Pentreath, an architect. He decided to open a small shopfront on his office annex. His friend Birdie Hall, an artist, decided to help him. Look no further if you like classic designs with contemporary twists.

Skandium

As the name suggests, the shop stocks Scandinavian Modernism items. Among them is furniture, ceramics, glass and lightening.  They are well recognized for their  incredibly high quality. Such modernistic designs fit almost every home.

The Old Cinema, Chiswick High Road

This is a refurbished building currently dedicated to antiques, vintage and retro designs from around the world. This guarantees the uniqueness of the items and due to its character and interior design, it is a place worth visiting and shopping.

Do Shop, Convent Garden

These shops help young designers to sell their own items. This adds the ‘fun’ factor to each design. Most of the items are very functional, but at the same time full of fun and inspiring. Do Shop includes lighting products, furniture and kitchenware.
