Gehry ‘Fish Lamp’ Up For Auction

A 1984 Frank Gehry designed lamp with a chair base will be up for auction at Bonhams, Los Angeles on October 7th.

The lamp features his trademark theme of fish that has been prominent in so many of his well known architecture and furniture projects.

This piece is also an early example of the plastic laminate, ColorCore by Formica Corporation which Gehry subsequently used in many of his pieces.

‘Fish Lamp’ is expected to go for between $70,000-$90,000 at auction.
